Last Day
Today is my last day of student teaching. It is mostly sad, but this summer will be great. I remember always looking forward to summer as a student, teachers look forward to it even more. Lets be honest - getting paid all summer for doing nothing will be oh so awesome. I have been applying and interviewing for jobs these last few weeks. I hope one of these interviews will get me a job. Wahoo! I will miss the Orem Jr. High Jaguars.

Obligatory photos
So, nearly every time my hair gets long and I decide to cut it, there is always an obligatory mohawk minute and photo shoot.

The Pre-cut hideous part. It's real and terrible at the same time.

For some reason this never gets old.

Next time I shave the top and leave the edge all around. You know, the horseshoe head. Yeah, that's next.

Reason #382
Reason #382 why I love Felipe is that he can cook. On sunday night he made me lasagna soup. I would have taken a picture but it was so amazing we ate all of it. I guess I could have taken a picture of the empty soup pot?? Anyways thats just another reason why Felipe is AMAZING and I love him!

One of my favorites
On the way back home from New Mexico, we stopped to get gas and clean the bugs off the window. I was quite bored so I started taking pictures of Felipe cleaning off the windows.

One of the things that I always tease Felipe about is that when he is concentrating very hard on something he usually sticks his tongue out (as he is in this picture). I also really like the blown up cheeks, this must mean he was concentrating VERY hard trying to get those stuck on bugs off the window.
An update on our lives- we are still in school, hanging out together as much as we can, even though it seems to be only once a week. Our free time is generally taken up by school, work, homework or writing papers. Anyways- we are having fun, enjoying this crazy time of our lives.

Land of Enchantment
So Krys and I went down to New Mexico for the weekend. It ended up being a lot of fun. And also kind of cold. We stayed at Sally and Grant's place. All the kids kept us busy with Wii, trampoline tricks and youtube. I loaded a bunch of wood on a truck, bucked some hay, and almost helped butcher a goat. Krys helped make the sausage and bratwurst. She also entertained the kids and probably a bunch of other stuff. We even went bowling. Other than the driving a lot to get there and back everything was quite relaxing. Go down and visit awhile.

Lily just being awesome

This is Krys and I at Arches National Park on our way back. Not a bad little detour. Just don't drive off the mountain.

Alma fell asleep on the computer desk. I have to say the kid is pretty cool. I especially enjoyed watching the man jump off the window sill or the arm of the couch.

Here we are hanging out in the back yard. Right before we butchered Bratwurst.

Christmas is all around
First and foremost, happy holidays to everyone!!! Though we didn't send out cards, we want everyone to know that we love you guys. We really do.
We stayed mostly in Provo for the break. We did have a wonderful Christmas. I am truly surprised how much we have been blessed with wonderful friends and family. Got the picture of our tree without much view of the mess from the unwrappings. Krys and I got each other stuff we needed and stuff we wanted. It has been a wonderful time for the both of us.
We went up to West Jordan and Taylorsville for meals. That got us out of the house and that was nice. Krys and CJ got to talk to their little brother Nick who is currently serving in the San Diego mission with a three way call with their parents. Thank heavens for a speakerphone. He comes back in July. Due to inclement weather we were unable to travel last night back to Provo. However, we are safe and sound. I know that there are some storms going around so please, please drive safe and have a wonderful New Year.

Funny Quote
So we were sitting ar5ound Felipe's sister's kitchen table last night and I have no idea how it came up but all of the sudden she said:
"So Felipe, I hear you are hot in bed."
Then she realize how that sounded (probably by the look of our astonished faces) so she went on to say:
"I mean I hear you have a warm temperature when you are under your covers at night"
Yeah I know... sometimes she may be strange... but hey its fun to live so close!

The Museum of Beans
We had an amazing opportunity to take our nieces and nephews to the Bean Museum this week! So I tried to tell the boys on the way there that we were going to see a whole museum full of lima beans, pinto beans, and refried beans. Anyways, we loved watching the kids have fun looking at the crazy animals.Sunday, November 16, 2008
The infamous penny playing
So, as the awesome child I am or was [that all depends on who you talk to], I used to play with pennies. Yeah, that's right. And your curiosity arises. What did go through that boys mind whilst he was playing with said pennies? To the few of you who have continuously asked me that question it may seem that I have avoided giving an answer. That has probably been true many times. But the answer is rather basic and non-dramatic. All you really need to do is think boy thoughts and you have the answer. GI Joes would serve the same purpose as would many other small type toys like Legos and what have you.
In other news, our little family is just fine. I've got barrels of homework I should be doing right now. Krys is mostly busy with work at the Maxx. We're getting ready for the holiday season. We're excited to see family come to town. And yes, we're going to be all over the place. All kinds of insanity. Bwaah!!!! Anyways, I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Labored Day Weekend
Dearest friends, you are all great and sorry for not writing as much as we could. But let me give you a sum up of what is going on around the Sanchez household.
Last month at work was crap-tastic [Sorry M-I-L for using the word crap, I know I shouldn't]. But I was used and abused spackling, sanding, priming, painting, digging through rock, putting up fences and doing many of those things by myself when there should be at least two. Some of this was even done when I had a bogus thumb [I have an oblong bone in there that should be round]. Don't worry, my thumb is better however still sore.
Sister Eileen and family moved into Provo. It's nice having more family around and so close. Also, it's fun being asked to play Polly Pockets.
Anyways, for this weekend Krys' father was in West Jordan for the weekend helping Jason and CJ [Krys' sister and B-I-L] put wiring in their basement. So we spent a good portion of our weekend up there. I learned some of the wiring stuff and put up some blue boxes. It was quite the experience. Though I still feel awkward around my in-laws [no offense, I'm just not used to you guys yet], I am getting much better.
I am back in school again starting today. my schedule is going to pretty busy. Got my refereeing job again. So there's big change. And I feel weird around so many students. Anyways, I will try to convince ourselves to update more often. Love to you all.
PS- best Oregon license plate ever and I quote: "FOO POO". I almost wet myself reading that one.

Some funny crap or sayings
"You dropped a satellite on a bunny?"
-Krys
"....Ireland is obviously Ireland...."
-Brando
"I was eating pie!"
bad guy in Paycheck
"I've been wearing some fruity soaps!"
-Pig Finn
Which reminds me, my soap has the pleasant aroma of yoghurt. And you all should watch Waking Ned Divine if only for the old man butt.

Dinosaur fan
Just letting you all know that Krys and I are fine. We're working our butts off trying to pay for crap and taking care of ourselves. We got to see my sister Sally and her family when they passed through town. We've also attended a couple of weddings and gave awesome gifts and cards.
However, this post is mostly about me being a dinosaur nut. That and I just got addicted to Jurassic Fight Club on the History Channel. I guess you could say that I've liked dinosaurs since I small child. And after having read Jurassic Park and Lost World by Michael Crichton on several occasions the whole study of dinosauria fascinates me. I thoroughly enjoy learning about what these terrible lizards were capable of. Personal favorites are the T. Rex and Velociraptor. These animals rocked the house. I just learned some cool stuff about the tyranosaur. Apparently the rex used biological warfare and stuck together in family groups. Yeah, I'm a nut.
Also, here's a picture.
