Bridal Shower

Last Saturday my mom, three ladies from her ward, and I put on a bridal shower for one of my mom's friend's daughter. The theme was "Pucker Up." Here are a million and one pictures!

We put pink and green balloons along the path to the front door.

The fun blanket we tied for her.

The cute food table.

The bride-to-be's friend made personalized Jone's Soda labels with pictures of the engaged couple.

We froze water balloons so the ice wouldn't ruin the cute labels.

The fireplace. My mom made the wreath and her friend Cheri made the banner. I want a banner like that for over my bed!

More tissue paper flowers above the kitchen sink.

Cute pinwheels my mom made and stuck on the end of straws.

Cute cupcakes and "i do" tags.

We sent out recipe cards with the invitations for people to write their favorite recipe. It was fun to see all the recipes people brought back.

Lemon water to go with the pucker up theme. We also had two types of lemonades (regular and strawberry).

Cute candy jars.

Close up of the wreath.

Pictures and jars on the fireplace mantel.

We made lemon, lime and lip shaped advice cards.
There is about 50-60 more pictures that I didn't include. It was really fun and everyone said they loved it!

Columbus, Ohio

Felipe and I have been in Cincinnati, Ohio this summer. A few weekends ago we decided to go to Columbus. They have a pretty cool zoo and their MLS team the Columbus Crew was playing Salt Lake Real. We had a great time and I got to live out one of my life long dreams - walk around with kangaroos. We had a great time!
Driving to the zoo with our shades on.

Fil is closest to a Black bear. not even close to the polar bear height!

These were HUGE bats. They are called flying foxes or something. I hope I never see one in nature!

They have a lot of flamingos! All different colors of pick too...

This little penguin was enjoying his audience. He sang us a squawking song for a while. When we were at the soccer game, they had these horns that sounded exactly like him!

Sea Turtle. Probably my favorite from this zoo.

On our walk with the kangaroos. You get to walk through their fenced in area and they hopped all around you. Too bad it was really hot and they were almost all asleep except this dude.

I love his legs!

At the game. Salt Lake is red and Columbus is yellow. The man in front of us was wearing a kilt. Couldn't get a picture though...

I think Felipe really enjoyed the game.

Us at the game. Real lost but it was still a great game. I am still trying to convince Felipe to have a favorite team and not cheer for the refs. Don't know if I will ever win that battle!

Baby Girl Quilt

One of my best friends, Bethany, (who also teaches Math with me at OJHS) is going to have a baby girl at the end of June. I made her a "rag quilt" for her baby girl. Here are the pictures:

This is just a cute picture of me and my niece Payton... isn't she cute?

St. George and Zions National Park

Last week was my spring break and I really wanted to do something that got me out of Orem. We found a cheap hotel on PriceLine and went down to St. George Saturday morning till Sunday night. I wish we could have gone for longer but it is towards the end of Felipe's semester so he had homework and couldn't miss class.

I love making Felipe pose in strange places.

Felipe's hand compared to a T-Rex dinosaur footprint.

The super pretty and very white St. George Temple.

A cool picture Felipe took during our hike.

Another goal achieved. Stand between a cliff and a waterfall. It was amazing.... and wet.

See the two little waterfalls in the middle of the picture? Those were the waterfalls from the last picture. If you look above those two you can see a little one above it. We went on a crazy long hike (climbing over huge rocks the entire time) to get there. We probably hiked 4+ miles.

Felipe and I towards the end of the day.  Eventually I want to be able to bike all over the park and spend a week down there just exploring!

Christmas 2011

We went to my parents in Maineville Ohio for Christmas 2011. They moved into the house on Thursday, everyone got there on Saturday or Sunday, so there was a lot of boxes and settling in to do. Here are about a billion pictures:

Felipe and my brother-in-law Brice putting lights on the HUGE tree we got.

My super cute nephew Carter showing off his top teeth.

Payton super excited to find all my parents old VHS movies.

Sitting down for Christmas dinner. My mom got a china hutch and we put her China in it. My HomeGoods skills were put to good use!

The stocking were hung by the chimney with care. Although they were too heavy so we had to get extra hooks to hold them all up.

All the siblings with our paint cans full of Christmas Eve PJ's.

Us with our new jammy jams on.

Felipe and Nick waiting to go down the stairs to see what Santa brought!

Felipe and I after church on Christmas day.

My super cute parents after church on Christmas day.

Trisha and her husband Brice. We went out to this amazing restaurant. They had great ribs, chicken and onion straws. YUMMY!

Nick, Felipe and Brice at Montgomery Inn Boathouse.

All in all it was a great Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a great New Year (and month of February as well).
Love you all!
