Mirror lake

We went to mirror lake last weekend. Mirror lake is up by Kamas Utah. It was a spur of the moment idea and I'm so glad we went. We packed a "picnic lunch" of bread, peanut butter and jelly, and cheese-its. We forgot a knife to spread the peanut butter so we had to get creative and use part of the cheese-it box. After lunch we walked around the lake (about 2 & 3/4 miles). Zack walked all but maybe 1/4 of a mile! He was a good little trooper and slept the whole way home!

Zack trying to catch a fish with a piece of grass. He kept saying here fishy fishy, it didn't work so well.

Felipe and Zack. There was a fisherman reeling in a fish so z was a little distracted.

Our feet went swimming.

Just one of the 30 pictures of the lake.

We stopped by the Provo River Falls on the way home to snap a picture. I love waterfalls!

Zack with his squished sandwich. It reminded me of that peanut butter rhino book, luckily he didn't sit on the sandwich though!

Obsessed with Gardening - Version 2014

I am obsessed and addicted to gardening. It seems to be all I do and all I talk about! Starting in January I talked with everyone I worked with who gardened in the area and got as much advice as I could. I started plants inside... and they died. Then I planted more inside... and they died. Then I planted a third round inside, and they survived! Well... most of them :)

I bought a bunch of plants at the local nursery, they were a lot cheaper than Walmart and much better quality as well.

This year I planted:
-Strawberries
-Onions (both yellow and white)
-Artichoke (it died...)
-Cantaloupe
-Carrots (only about 20 out of 200 seeds grew)
-Red Potatoes
-Broccoli
-Bush Beans
-Spaghetti Squash
-Cucumbers
-Zucchini
-Yellow Zucchini
-Bumpy Yellow Squash (I thought it was the same as yellow zucchini) I don't know what it is!
-Bell Peppers: Orange, Red and Green
-JalapeƱos (not doing so well)
-Pumpkins (both pumpkin pie pumpkins and jack-o-lantern pumpkins)
-4 types of Tomatoes

... and I only used about 5/8 of the space I have for my garden!

Here are the beginning pictures:

My tomato plants. I have a few tomatoes growing already!
My pumpkin plants. If I get a ton of pumpkins I am going to try to sell them!
An overview of the garden taken today: July 7th.
Onions, carrots, cantaloupe, and red potatoes.
Broccoli and Bush Beans.
Zucchini and Peppers. Those three huge zucchini grew while we were in Oregon!

Walking and making noises

Well, Zack has been around for a year. He started walking for real the first week of February. He is now able to climb onto couches and such. Depending on the chair, he can also get down. There was a birthday party and a camera was used. I don't have access to those pictures yet but here are some primers.

Putting small hands into large shoes. Hands may or may not be smelly now.

He might be laughing.

Cow costume!!

Favorite activity? Climbing into the cupboards and removing contents.

Smash cake for Zack that Krys made. The cake was left nearly unsmashed.

Balloons in the crib.

Krys made a bean bag for the boy. It's awesome!

Running in the park.

Somebody loves tunnels.

He did not want to let go he was so excited.

He went down solo and loved it.

On time post

The Sanchez family is doing very well. I am starting what may be my busiest semester of all time. Krys is busy teaching and doing Young Women's stuff. Zack is a handful and now has a knack for hijinks. He has taken actual steps by himself. He has said "Dada" because I am his favorite. Krys has told me that he's said "Mama" so we'll count that too. Got his first haircut yesterday. Here are some pictures!

Climbing on his car seat. Normal occurrence.

Pointing while almost walking.

"I'm a cowboy!"

He likes mirrors. He is also a very handsome Superman.

"I'm naked and hugging gloves."

New haircut.

It's like he knows he's handsome.

Of course he got my creeper face.

10 months

We want to wish everyone a merry Christmas. Zack is now ten months old and keeping us busy. We are very grateful for the break from work and school. Here are some things with our boy. He has started to stand on his own now. He's very good at getting into just about everything. He'll wave to people. He also makes farting noises. We love him and he loves us.

He's not a huge fan of the snow.

Dancing at a wedding reception.

Playing with a straw on Christmas morning.

He got himself into the cupboard.

Not puking in a toilet.

"I'm done eating."

Snacking on a strawberry.

Ocho meses

Yep, eight months now. He is very mobile now. His favorite places are now the laundry room and the bathroom. He will scale the side of the couch, the bathtub, the TV stand, and my legs. His balance is much less shaky now than it was a month ago. He also had a few spills and would cry if he wanted to get down. The nickname Zadam is starting to stick and I love it. We are a pretty awesome family.

Actual smiles.
"Nothing to see here, move along."
 Outside being handsome.
Alma read Zack a Little Critter story and it was awesome.

7 Months

Well, Zack is 7 months old.  So here a few pictures.  He's got the crawling thing down pretty well. He likes basically all foods. He'll eat whatever he can get his hands on now. Also, he loves his parents.
