My new kitchen shelves: (Thanks Tee for installing them!)

I love this red polka-dot dish I got for my bridal shower! Plus I love the shelf brackets!

I'm taking the day off to work on some more projects with Mom and my sisters!

Helper Day Trip

Since this week is spring break we made plans to go down to Helper on Saturday and then journey on to Moab for a quick vacation. Well, the lovely Utah weather decided it was going to snow and rain, which made our Moab idea not work so well.

We did go down to Helper to visit Sally, Grant and kids on Saturday. It was fun to hang out with all the kids and watch them play their songs on their new piano, help Sally cook amazing food, and relax! We also got to go to the Price History Museum. They had cool dinosaurs and Native American artifacts.

Here is Fil in front of the dinosaur bones...

The triceratops is one of my favorite dinosaurs!

Doesn't this guy look like he wants a hug?

Sometimes Fil gets really into looking at fossils. Or maybe he was stretching his legs?

I don't know why he can't take a normal picture...

Lily came with us to the museum. Don't you love her black eye?

Me, standing in front of a Woolly Mammoth, it was huge!

We had a great dinner of rabbit (I couldn't eat that) and peanut chicken (my favorite). Then we drove home in a blinding blizzard through the canyon. There were a few times when we could barely see 5 feet in front of our car. We made it home, even though we had to drive like turtle (if turtles could drive).

Snow... in APRIL? annoying.

It didn't work so well but this is what we could see driving home - just snow. It was hard to tell if the road was going to turn or not. Luckily we were able to drive behind a few cars so we could use their light to guide us as well.

For the rest of spring break we are hanging out in Orem, going to the zoo, going shopping, hanging out with friends, and best of all relaxing! It should be some good times.

Middle School Mayhem

Random Quotes and stories from my classes:

One of my students came in before school and asked "Mrs. Sanchez, is my fro messed up?" I replied no. He then said "Well, are my jeans too tight?" ~Random!

When asked to do 100 multiplication problems in 10 minutes one of my students said, "What do you expect us to be, like, math heros or something?"

When our math aid / part time english teacher told my class she was prego one of my students said "But your not fat!"

I did my hair curly one day (instead of straight) one of my students couldn't figure out how to word his thoughts. He said "Mrs. Sanchez, what happened to your hair? Its not normal. I mean its funny looking, I mean... umm..." Pretty sure I gave him a confused look!

Last year I had a student who never paid attention. The one time I noticed he was paying attention and nodding along I turned my back to put a question on the board and called on him to answer. When I turned around his entire finger was up his nose... I was so embarrassed for him!

When working on solving proportions I had a student ask "Do we multiply then times or times then multiply?"

We talked about doubling or tripling a number. One of my students didn't know the word for quadrupling so she said "Do we four-triple it?"

A random intercom announcement after school one day "Please jump down from your perch on the windowsill."

I'm sure there are a billion more stories that I have happened. As I remember them I will add them in.
